The most coveted place to visit should be the Vatican. This state of the city of the Vatican is known to them as stato della citi del vaticano and is all surrounded by a wall. It is a landlocked city and a state as well which is all ruled by the head of the Roman Catholic Church, the pope.

With a population of about 800, the Vatican has a total area of 44 hectares. Some places of interest for you to visit while in there should be the Renaissance church, St. Peter’s cathedral and the Popes very own official residence, the Sistine chapel.

Still in Rome, you can go by the colosseum which was finished in 80 A.D. It was an arena where the public would go to watch a variety of games.

Italian Dishes – The Tasty Italian Stromboli

Today we will take a look at the famous Italian Recipe- Stromboli. The true differentiation connecting stromboli and calzone is that the former is rolled and the latter is folded. There is no difference in the ingredients. Both commonly include cheese (usually mozzarella), meat, and/or vegetables. I advise varying the ingredients anytime you make them. But stromboli typically has tomato sauce inside and calzone has sauce on the side for dipping.

Ingredients (serves 5):

* 2 tablespoons – extra virgin olive oil * 2 cloves – garlic, crushed * 1 – large onion, sliced * One – green pepper, sliced * 1 pound – button mushrooms, chopped * Four – mild Italian sausage, casing removed * 1 1/2 pounds – mozzarella cheese, grated

Preparation:

Make the calzone dough similar to the way you prepare the stomboli dough. And make the tomato sauce the same way the stomboli tomato sauce was prepared.

Place the oil into a pan and heat up over medium flame and add the garlic. Cook for one minute and then add the onion, green pepper, and mushrooms.

Saute until the mushrooms have lost their water and the mixture starts to brown. Prepare the sausage in a different pan until it starts to brown, breaking up the meat into bits.

Preheat oven to four hundred degrees F. Take the dough apart into five separate but equivalent dough balls. Roll each ball flat on a lightly floured surface.

Cover every piece of dough with a layer of mozzarella cheese, followed by the sausage and vegetables (evenly distribute).

Cover again with the rest of the mozzarella cheese and fold every dough sheet over, sealing the ends.

By means of a spatula, transfer the calzones to 2 lightly oiled baking sheets. Lay both pans in the oven, one on the lower rack and the other on the upper rack. Cook for 15 minutes and then reverse the baking sheets and cook for an additional 20 min. Serve with the tomato sauce over the top or on the side for dipping.

Tapas, which are snacks and finger foods are brought and shared by all the locals. All kinds of foods are prepared here and there’s something for everyone.

The Seville fair originated in 1847 when the locals would bring in their livestock for the queen to approve. 160 years later, Seville still holds tight to and treasures this event just as much as they did when it began.

One of the greatest and arguably the most beautiful of all of Seville’s traditions for this grand festival is the woman dancing in their vibrant dresses. Surely, it shows the elegance and beauty of the city of Seville Spain.

Libations At Swans, The Victoria Brewpub, Brewery, Restaurant, And Hotel!

In addition to providing first-rate accommodations as a Victoria BC hotel, Swans also houses Swans Buckerfields Brewery, their on-site Victoria brewery that produces award-winning beers. Since 1989, Swans Buckerfields Brewery has been crafting German and Canadian beers as well as British-style ales-all of which are brewed with “old world care” and served at 45 degrees Fahrenheit to highlight their full flavour.

The Victoria brewery uses 100 percent grain mashes: only wheat and barley malts and oatmeal in one stout. The specialty malts and Swans unique strain of yeast are imported from Britain. Swans swears against using syrups, sugars, or “adjunct.” The naturally carbonated ales are left to settle at cool temperatures as opposed to filtering because filtering can also extract the awesomeness.

Buckerfields beers include such notables as the Pandora Pale Ale, Swans Oatmeal Stout, Arctic Ale, Buckerfield’s Bitter, Appleton Brown Ale, Riley’s Scotch Ale, Extra IPA, an Old Towne Bavarian Lager, and a Raspberry Ale. Swans Buckerfields Brewery has won numerous National awards for their beers, and for those interested, tours of the brewery are available. Swans also serves their house-made libations in their Victoria brewpub and Victoria restaurant, as well as selling their brews in unique 650 ml bottles at Swans Wine & Beer Shoppe. For travellers, these make wonderful souvenirs of their stay at Swans Hotel.

In addition, as would be expected from the name, Swans Wine & Beer Shoppe sells many vintages of red and white wines, with over 400 varieties from which to choose. The selections come from all over the globe, but the shoppe specializes in British Columbian and Australian wines, as well as Chilean, French, and Italian bottles. Moreover, you can purchase champagne (including Dom Perignon for the distinguishing palate) and sparkling wine to help you celebrate special occasions.

The store also carries a wide array of spirits-150 options! As far as liquors go, vodka is a specialty of the shoppe with 30 offerings, and the store also boasts a collection of fine, single malt scotches. Lastly, the truly adventurous may procure Green Tree Absinthe (alternately called Le Fee Verte–the Green Fairy), which is legal in Canada (but not in the US)!

If you are planning a tripto Vancouver Island and looking for opportunities to enjoy the local libations, take a look at this article on a unique Victoria BC hotel, Swans, connected to an on-site Victoria Brewery.
