After all these videos are figured it was time to write a regular blog post. So I’ll talk a bit about my favorite way to write blog posts and articles. What I like to do is do a bit of keyword research on the subject. I like to use Googles external keyword tool. I like that tool because it’s free and since Google makes money by selling ads you can pretty much bet that it’s pretty accurate. I know I’ve talked about some of this before, but it is really important so, let’s get started. Keyword Research The first thing I’ll do is type my main keyword sentence into the Google external keyword tool. That gives me a wide range of keywords to choose from. What I’m looking for here are some long tail keywords with decent traffic and low competition. Usually I’ll just pick one keyword, but if I do pick more than one, I make sure that they’re related. That’s the first and most important part of the research I do for my post.

Creating An Outline When I’ve found the keywords I want to use, I’ll create the outline of my post. If I have more than one keyword, I’ll try to put them together in the most logical sequence. I’ll add some questions or points I want to make as additional sub headlines. If I only have one keyword, I’ll create somewhere between 5 and 10 sub headlines. I now have my entire blog post planned out.

That’s an amazing concept worth repeating… … Every word you display on your blog is likely to show up in a Google search in hours (or even mere minutes). And when a Google search matches the words on your blog, there’s an excellent chance to have that same searcher click to read your entire blog post. That means every time you write on your blog, you’re almost instantly scaling out your lead generation efforts. How awesome is that?

Gain international fame – Blogging positions yourself as the expert on the topic you choose to write about. It’s true. The fact that you’ve put your thoughts in writing is much more powerful than saying it out loud. And the more you blog, the more your “fans” (i.e. repeat visitors) are going to adore you. Become an instant free agent – Another one of the many benefits of corporate blogging is it gives you instant “free agent” status. Just like a star football player. When you name your blog with your actual name in the blog title, you retain ownership no matter where you blog from (or for whom you work for).

In today’s economic climate, odds are you’re not going to retire at the same company you’re currently employed with. But the good news is blogging virtually bulletproofs your job security. If your boss threatens to fire you or let you go, just remind him/her that the competition would LOVE to have you continue blogging for the away team. Blogging is easy – And blogging today is easier than ever. The latest version of WordPress sets you back about 30 minutes to install. After that, you’re done. Time to blog. Internet marketing couldn’t be easier.

Clearly just changing this setting will suddenly open up a vast flood of search engine traffic, you will still need to work on both the on-page and off-page optimization, but it will start the ball rolling.
