How To Increase Comment Count
Do you get upset when you have written a blog post and no one comments on it? If your blog doesn’t receive many comments it is not because nobody likes your content, it is most probably because you simply don’t have enough traffic. In most online communities, 90% of users are lurkers who never contribute, 9% of users contribute a little, and 1% of users account for almost all the discussion. Fortunately, there’s a way to get these 1% of user to contribute, even if you don’t have a large traffic. Follow these 6 tips and you are good to go.
1. Reply to comment – As obvious as I may sound, you should always try to reply to all the comments in your blog, whenever possible.
2. Comment on other blogs – You’ll often hear people tell you to comment on blogs in order to grow traffic or increase the amount of subscribers you have but the real value here in my opinion is the amount of comments that you get in return. Rather than just fire hosing comments all over the place stick to a good batch of about 20 blogs and start building relationships with some of your fellow bloggers through the comments. Bloggers are after all the sort of people who like to have their voice heard and write so they are the most likely to comment.
3. Encourage participation by asking your readers questions – An easy way to increase the number of comment is by asking questions at the end of your article. Qhen you ask people for their opinion, they are more likely to give it to you.
4. Write controversial posts – Don’t be afraid to speak your heart out. There are times when one needs to choose a side. When the time calls for it, it doesn’t hurt to go against the norm and against the conventions. This will not only help increase comment counts, but also help increase the number of your faithful readers.
5. Install these recommended plugins – There are tons of free plugins for WordPress that can help increase the number of comments for blog. I personally recommend CommentLuv. Make sure to give it a try.
6. Build a community – Assuming you are consistent in your blog post and writing stay on topic in regards to your niche, sooner or later you will build your own community. Readers who share the same passion as you in regards of the niche you are in. They key is to be persistent and consistent in delivering quality post to your readers.
As long as you follow these 6 steps, I can guarantee you an increase in your blog counts. Make sure you enjoy the conversation.
