“Wine was regarded was something special even during the time of Jesus Christ. It was always present during special occasions, be it on birthday parties, wedding ceremonies and even on the Last Supper of Jesus Christ. Many studies have been conducted on it by doctors and scientists and all studies have made one conclusion: wine is good for our health when we take it in moderation. But when you drink wine in excessive amounts, the results can be devastating especially on our health, The worst part is, it can be deadly.

1. Alcohol- Remember, wine has alcohol and starch fermented and when you take excessive amounts, your health can be vulnerable.

2. Accidents- When people get drunk and they drive, they usually meet accidents. We usually read about drunk drivers killing an innocent bystander or drunk driver killed in a car crash in papers and in television news programs. You should be a responsible drinker, don’t drink and drive or don’t drive and drink. However, people are still reckless and they still drink and drive. Because of this lack of responsibility, many innocent people are dragged into the mess like those accidents.

3. Health- Though wine can be good for our health, when taken in excessive amounts, we are putting our health in great danger. We can suffer from liver diseases, hepatitis, cirrhosis of the liver, cancer and many more. Pregnant women should never drink wine because the child in her womb can have a mental or even physical disabilities.

4. Mental- Taking too much alcohol can lead to alcohol dependency. This is when your body starts craving for alcohol. You become addicted to it and your personal life can even be affected. You will be losing your friends and your family. You will also be putting your career that you have worked so hard all your life in danger. Taking too much alcohol can lead to mental conditions like insomnia, memory loss and depression.

When taken responsibility, wine can be very stimulating, relaxing and refreshing. But how many glasses of wine is considered moderate drinking? Studies have shown that drinking two to three glasses of wine daily is good for our health but anything more than that is considered excess and can be deadly. One more thing, it is suggested that the best time to consume wine is after eating our meals. This is because drinking wine with an empty stomach is hazardous to our health because it can lead to thinning of your ulcers and your intestines. So the next time you go out to have dinner, have wine but only in reasonable amounts.
